2009 Basic Mountain Climbing School Application
Based in Oregon, the Santiam Alpine Club (SAC) offers mountain climbing instruction and activities. Training begins each spring with the basic Mountain Climbing School for rock and snow. Two SAC get togethers are held annually, the Luau on Labor Day Weekend and the Banquet, usually in late February.

Oregon Climbing and In the Pacific NorthwestEstablished in 1959 by climbers in Salem, Oregon, SAC members will often be found on the Cascade Range peaks in California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. There is more to climb than Mount Hood. Find the mountains of interest marked on the map to the right.
Although the Activities Schedule often offers hiking and skiing trips, SAC is at heart a mountaineering club, not a general outdoor club. Membership Applications are considered at the club's annual meeting each November for candidates who have satisfied one of the following requirements:
